Yungblud has announced that he is cancelling all of his remaining 2025 tour dates after doctors advised him to stop performing until the end of the year.
The 28-year-old artist from Doncaster, currently promoting his fourth studio album Idols, revealed that recent medical tests raised concerns about both his voice and his bloodwork.
The singer, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, shared the news in an emotional social media statement. He described 2025 as “truly unbelievable” but admitted that his relentless pace on the road had finally caught up with him. After returning home from tour and undergoing his usual check-ups, doctors instructed him to take a complete break from touring for the rest of the year.
Yungblud acknowledged that pushing himself to the limit had always been part of his personality, saying it is in his nature to “run and run until [he] runs himself to the ground.” This time, however, he stressed that he had been told he needed to take the issue seriously and could no longer ignore his health. Continuing, he said he did not want to risk “any lasting damage” and emphasized that he wants his journey with fans “to last forever.”
The decision affects a run of US dates and international shows that had been planned through the end of 2025, including concerts in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Washington, Mexico City and several Latin American cities. He confirmed that all US tickets will be refunded and promised a special gift for fans who register via a link he shared, underlining that he never takes anyone’s love, support or energy for granted.
“My heart is broken,” he wrote, apologising to fans and acknowledging that some would be frustrated by the news. He insisted, though, that taking time off now is the only way to come back stronger: “This is so hard for me to do, but I promise I will make it up to you… You are everything to me. But I need this time.”
Despite the setback, Yungblud is still expected to bring the Idols World Tour to the UK next spring, with 2026 shaping up as a major year. Idols, released in June, has already deepened his reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in modern rock. He has previously scored three UK Number 1 albums (Weird! in 2020, his self-titled 2022 record Yungblud, and Idols), and earlier this year he was honoured with the Disruptor of the Year award at the Nordoff and Robbins Northern Music Awards.
His success in 2025 has also extended to the awards circuit. Yungblud recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album for Idols, alongside a nod for Best Rock Song for his single “Zombie”. He has also been recognised for his performance of “Changes” at Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning farewell concert, which took place just weeks before Ozzy Osbourne’s death.
Beyond his studio work, Yungblud has become known as a vocal champion of fans and accessibility in live music. His own festival, BludFest, has been praised for offering cheaper tickets compared with many other UK events, reflecting his desire to keep shows reachable for younger and less affluent fans.
While many followers expressed disappointment at the cancellations, the overwhelming reaction online has been one of support and understanding. Fans have encouraged him to put his health first, reminding each other that, as one message put it, “he’s not a robot who can perform 24/7.”
For now, Yungblud says he will step back, rest and recover, with a clear promise: the story is far from over. He has vowed to return to the US in 2026 and is already exploring more affordable solo shows in Mexico and Latin America next year.
“I’ll see you next year,” he told fans. “Rest now, rage later.”
