Terrassa has unveiled the major names for its Festa Major 2026, promising six days packed with music, culture and community celebrations from July 3 to July 8. With a programme featuring 87 artists and bands across 15 stages throughout the city, this year's edition once again positions itself among the largest urban festivals in Catalonia.

The lineup combines established stars from the Catalan, Spanish and international music scenes with a strong commitment to local talent. No fewer than 43 Terrassa-based artists will participate in the festivities, while female and mixed-gender acts account for 47 performances, reflecting the festival's emphasis on diversity and representation.

One of the biggest attractions of the programme will be Macaco, who returns to Terrassa on July 4 to present his latest album Futuro Ancestral. The Barcelona musician, known for blending reggae, rumba, funk, hip-hop and world music influences, will perform at Plaça Nova in what is expected to be one of the most attended concerts of the festival.

The city's traditional large-scale concert at Parc de Vallparadís will take place on July 5, featuring a double bill headlined by Els Catarres and The Tyets. Both bands are among the most popular names in contemporary Catalan music, bringing together folk-pop anthems, urban influences and the festive spirit that has made them favourites at festivals across the region.

The same stage will also host Els Amics de les Arts on July 3 as part of their "20 Years of Friends" anniversary tour. The beloved quartet will revisit two decades of songs that have become part of the soundtrack of modern Catalan pop. The following evening, Vallparadís will be dedicated to female-led projects, with performances by Suu, The Crab Apples, OKDW and local artist Meri Prata, highlighting the growing visibility of women in the music industry.

Plaça Nova will welcome another major name on the opening night with Miriam Rodríguez. The Galician singer-songwriter, who rose to fame through Operación Triunfo, will present material from her latest release Líneas Rojas. On July 5, the same stage will showcase one of the most promising voices in contemporary flamenco, Ana de Caro, bringing traditional Andalusian roots to the heart of Terrassa.

Independent music fans will once again find a home at Espai Vapor, which celebrates its 14th edition as one of the most important alternative stages of the Festa Major. Located in Plaça del Vapor Ventalló, the venue continues its commitment to contemporary independent music, underground sounds and emerging artists from across Spain and beyond.

The undisputed highlight of this year's programme is the appearance of New York indie-pop legends The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, who will bring the Spanish leg of their reunion tour to a close in Terrassa on July 4. Widely regarded as one of the defining bands of the late-2000s indie revival, their performance is expected to attract fans from well beyond the city.

The Espai Vapor lineup, however, extends far beyond a single headliner. The stage will also welcome acclaimed Galician indie-rock band Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, post-punk outfit Dame Area, psychedelic rock project VV Trippin' You, garage-rock favourites La Plata, punk-pop group Las Dianas, and experimental noise act Dharmacide. The programme is further enriched by performances from Paco Te Quiero, Los Chivatos, Salvana, Ezpalak, Lys Morke, Verushka, Amable and Maadraassoo DJ, creating one of the most diverse alternative lineups ever presented at the festival.

Spanning indie pop, post-punk, shoegaze, garage rock, electronic experimentation and underground club culture, Espai Vapor 2026 reinforces its reputation as the place where audiences can discover some of the most exciting names operating outside the mainstream circuit.

Beyond the headline acts, the programme features an impressive variety of styles. Audiences will be able to enjoy the explosive brass energy of Balkan Paradise Orchestra, the blues and soul sounds of Koko-Jean & The Tonics, the folk-punk intensity of Ebri Knight, the singer-songwriter work of Meritxell Gené and Borja Penalba, as well as performances by Gemma Humet, Tremendo & Griffi, Marc Parrot & Quartet Brossa, Belén Natalí, Germà Negre and many others.

Traditional Festa Major favourites will also return, including performances by Orquestra Maravella and Orquestra Maribel, while local stages such as Rambla Nord's Moguda Rock, Plaça Didó's Terrassa és de Rumba and the multicultural La Taifa space will offer a broad range of musical experiences throughout the week.

Adding further intrigue to the programme, organisers have announced a surprise concert at Plaça Vella on July 6, with details to be revealed closer to the festival.

Macaco, The Tyets, Els Catarres, Miriam Rodríguez, Suu, Els Amics de les Arts and indie legends The Pains of Being Pure At Heart headline one of the most diverse Festa Major lineups in recent years.
