Sant Andreu de la Barca Festa Major 2026: Chenoa and Obús lead four days of concerts and celebrations

Sant Andreu de la Barca will celebrate its Festa Major from September 4 to 7 with a programme combining major concerts, rock, tribute bands, popular culture, family activities and events organised by local associations.

Sant Andreu de la Barca is preparing for four days of celebrations as the Festa Major 2026 takes over the town from September 4 to 7. Music will once again be one of the main pillars of the programme, with a line-up designed to move between mainstream pop, classic rock and heavy metal, 1980s nostalgia, tribute shows and lively cover bands, while traditional culture and activities for younger audiences remain a central part of the festival.

The main concert area on Avinguda de la Constitució will host Chenoa, one of the best-known voices in Spanish pop, in what is set to be one of the most popular concerts of the weekend. The same stage will also welcome Los 80 Principales, whose repertoire is built around some of the biggest Spanish and international hits of the decade, alongside La Banda del Coche Rojo and Caipirinyes, two cover-band proposals aimed squarely at the Festa Major atmosphere.

Tribute concerts will also feature prominently. Encanto de Loco will revisit the songs associated with El Canto del Loco, while a Fito y Fitipaldis tribute will bring the familiar rock sound and repertoire of Fito Cabrales to the festival programme. Together, these shows give the main stage a deliberately accessible and intergenerational character, moving between radio pop, Spanish rock classics and late-night party material.

Obús headline the fourth ErmitaRock

For listeners looking for something heavier, the fourth edition of ErmitaRock will once again provide a dedicated space for rock music. This year's bill is headed by Obús, one of the historic names of Spanish heavy metal and a band whose career stretches back to the beginning of the 1980s.

They will be joined by The Golden Grahams, giving ErmitaRock a two-band programme and strengthening an event that has gradually established itself as one of the distinctive musical components of Sant Andreu de la Barca's Festa Major. The presence of Obús also makes the rock programme one of the strongest contrasts to the more pop-oriented concerts taking place on the main stage.

Music alongside the town's traditional celebrations

The concerts form part of a broader Festa Major programme in which local culture will remain highly visible. The Societat El Casino will deliver this year's opening proclamation as the institution marks the centenary of one of Sant Andreu de la Barca's most emblematic buildings and associations. Before the proclamation, local groups including the Castellers de l'Adroc will take part in the traditional parade.

The cultural programme will also feature the XXI Trobada de l'Ètnia, organised by the Agrupació Cultural Aigüestoses, as well as the Correfoc, sardanes and other expressions of Catalan popular culture. The festival is therefore conceived not simply as a sequence of concerts but as several days in which music, street culture and local associations share the public space.

Younger residents will have their own programme through the Festa Major Petita, with performances, workshops and games across the four days. Its children's proclamation will be given by members of the Castellers de l'Adroc and Ous de Drac, both of which celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2026. The Festa Major Jove will also return, including the 31st edition of the traditional Gimcana Nocturna, this year inspired by the traditions of the Baix Llobregat.

Four days with a broad musical identity

Alongside the headline names, the Festa Major will include musical afternoons, concerts organised by local associations, cinema, exhibitions and other cultural activities. The mix between Chenoa's pop, the hard rock and heavy metal of Obús, the nostalgic appeal of Los 80 Principales and the repertoire-driven approach of the tribute and cover bands gives the 2026 edition a deliberately broad profile.

Accessibility and safety measures will again accompany the celebrations. The funfair on Avinguda de la Constitució will include a quieter period for people with sensory hypersensitivity, while the Festa Major will also provide a Punt Lila for prevention and assistance in situations involving sexist or LGTBI-phobic violence. The festivities will conclude with the traditional fireworks display, closing four days of music and street celebrations across Sant Andreu de la Barca.
